About Flea & Tick Collar Report

A small editorial project about one narrow question: which flea and tick collars actually work on real dogs.

I have spent fourteen years pulling ticks off dogs in exam rooms and talking owners through failed flea treatments. I buy and wear-test every collar on this page on real client dogs before it gets a score.

How we test

  • Every collar is bought at retail; we do not accept free review samples
  • Each is worn by a real dog through an active flea and tick season
  • We log scratching episodes, attached ticks, skin reactions and water exposure
  • Products are compared against each other, not against their own marketing

How scores are decided

Scores out of ten are editorial judgement, weighted towards speed of relief, length of continuous coverage, water resistance, comfort and mess. They are not laboratory measurements and they are not supplied by manufacturers.

How we make money

This site earns affiliate commission when you buy through our links, including as an Amazon Associate. Commission never changes a ranking, and prices shown are captured at publication — the retailer's page is always the authority.

Not veterinary advice

Nothing on this site diagnoses or treats a condition. If your dog is unwell, or is pregnant, very young or on medication, talk to your vet before starting any parasite product.
